വർഷം AD - 2050 ഭൂമിയിലെ സമുദ്രം മൊത്തത്തിൽ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് കൊണ്ട് കുമിഞ്ഞു കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇനീം പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഇട്ടാൽ കടലിലെ ജീവൻ അപകടത്തിൽ ആകും. ഇത് ഭൂമിയുടെ അന്തരീക്ഷത്തെ ബാധിക്കും. ജീവന്റെ നില നില നിൽപ്പിനെ ബാധിക്കും. പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്കിന് ഒരു ബദൽ മാർഗം കണ്ടെത്താനോ, അന്തരീക്ഷത്തെ ബാധിക്കാത്ത രീതിയിൽ സംസ്കരിക്കാൻ വേണ്ടിയോ ശാസ്ത്രത്തിന് സാധിക്കുന്നില്ല. പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് മാലിന്യം കളയാൻ വേണ്ടി ലോക രക്ഷകർ ആയ നാസ ഒരു ഗ്രഹം കണ്ടുപിടിക്കുന്നു.
